Government Directives About SHA.
Today the health principal secretary Harry Kimtai highlighted all the commitments that the government will have over the SHA to ensure that the treatment of patients will not be interrupted.
Harry said “following the successful national rollout of the Social Heath Authority on October 1st, 2024, the Ministry of Health directs all healthcare facilities and providers to ensure that services for SHA members remain uninterrupted.”
He also stated that even though there are transitions from NHIF to SHA still patients will continue getting treatment and care that they deserve in various healthcare facilities and providers.
The health institutions should continue recommending the SHA fund even though they still offer treatment with National Health Insurance Fund.
The ministry of health is happy with other health institutions that have already signed contracts with the SHA fund under the HCP (Healthcare Provider) which is a positive response.
Recommendation On Registration With SHA.
Harry Kimtai stated that the government will continue informing the public by the use of social media and Social Health Authority websites. This is to ensure the public is informed about membership registration, accessory to services, and dependents.
